What a Wonderful Opportunity

Me: Going on vacation brings up lots of feelings about how I dislike my body. I’m going on a trip soon.
Him: What a wonderful opportunity to practice self-love!

He said this with an earnestness that stopped me in my tracks. Given the level of genuine enthusiasm in his voice, I knew there must be something to his words. I pushed myself to remember to reflect on them.

Additionally, this was a nuanced lesson on “it’s not what you say but how you say it”.

The idea was:

  • this trip represents an opportunity to practice some of the things I have learned from our conversations thus far. We are around about six months and I knew what he means.

Learning

I learned about the term origin of health.
